Walterboro city officials held an emergency meeting Wednesday to discuss ways to stop gun violence.

There were several shooting in the area this past week.

The first shooting happened Monday night in Walterboro.

A family was on their porch when a shooter shot nine people, killing three of them. The youngest victim was a toddler.

The accused shooter is 19-year-old Danziel Chapman. He is in jail now facing murder charges.

Tuesday night there was another shooting just a couple of streets over from the first one happened.

Colleton county residents say they are tired of living in fear of violent crime.

The Ecumenical Ministerial Alliance is a group of pastors who have a plan to take back the community from violence. They are armed with prayer and ideas.

This past week of violence has kept them on their feet and on their knees in prayer.
The ministers go to the crime scenes to council families and to hospitals with victims for support.
